Fractional Fourier Transform Image Time - Frequency Information Research

Fractional Fourier Transform (FRFT) contains simultaneity the time-frequency information of the signal, and it is considered a new tool for time-frequency analysis. The energy distribution of image is analyzed and simulated in this paper, the characteristic of the amplitude and phase is extracted in Fractional Fourier domain of an image. The simulation results show that the FRFT can represent the timefrequency characteristic of an image, and the distribution changes with the variety of the fractional powers. Moreover, we also find some conclusion from the reconstructed image, and they are used the amplitude and phase information of FRFT. These conclusions will help to study how to use the FRFT in the area of image recognition and image edge extraction. Copyright © 2014 IFSA Publishing, S. L.
